Savory Vegan Tarts
Difficulty: Medium Total Time: approx. 45min
Recipe By: Crave with Ave
½ cup onion chopped fine
2-3 garlic cloves chopped
1-2 tbsp vegan butter
½ cup green peas
1 and ½ cup mushrooms chopped
1 can lentils
¾ cup veggie broth
1 tbsp flour
1 tbsp tamari
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp rosemary dried
1 tsp thyme
½ tsp sage
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegan tart shells
Preheat oven to 375F.
Next, start chopping and preparing all your ingredients.
In a pan saute onions and garlic in vegan butter.
Once soft add in the peas, mushrooms, and seasonings, and saute for five more minutes.
Add in your lentils and your flour and mix until there are no more white streaks, cook for two minutes.
Add your tamari, tomato paste, and dijon mustard and mix until combined.
Next, add in your veggie broth and cook on medium to low heat until the veggie broth is absorbed and the consistency of your lentil mix has changed, think thicker with softened lentils.
Grab your vegan tart shells and begin filling your tarts with the lentil filling. You can also dethaw some of the tarts and use the dough to make cute cookie toppers like what I did.
Brush the rim of the shells with melted vegan butter and cook your tarts as directed on the box or at least for 15min and enjoy!
